It is my honor to introduce to you the New Bill Gates Scholarship. This scholarship is an extension of the original Bill Gates Millennium Scholarship created by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation in 1999.
The Gates Scholarship is a highly selective, full scholarship for exceptional, Pell-eligible, minority, high school seniors. Starting in 2018, the scholarship will be awarded to 300 top student leaders each year, for 10 years, with the intent of promoting their academic excellence through college graduation, and providing them the opportunity to reach their full potential. Scholars will receive funding for the full cost of attendance* that is not already covered by other financial aid and the expected family contribution, as determined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
One of my greatest accomplishments so far in life was receiving the Bill Gates Scholarship in 2015. This scholarship has allowed me to not only taken a burden off of my family from having to pay for college but also to attend "The Greatest" school in the world MOREHOUSE COLLEGE. This scholarship pays for my Undergraduate, Graduate and Doctoral Education. I am able to study abroad to any place in the world for free all because of this scholarship. Thanks Uncle Bill and Aunt Melinda!!
If you are a high school senior looking to go to school for free, I highly encourage you to apply to this scholarship. DO NOT let the complexity of this scholarship deter you from finishing the application. This application is very extensive but it is worth every minute that you spend completing it.

In the past four months, there have been changes to leadership at over six Historically Black Colleges & Universities in this Nation. About two weeks ago, the Morehouse College Board of Trustees voted to not renew the contract of President John S. Wilson. I began to see this trend begin months ago but it did not really affect me until it was my president who was fired. Serving in the role as White House HBCU Ambassador, I knew that I had to speak out about this issue with governance dysfunction. The 73 White House HBCU Ambassadors came together to write this letter in protest of this issue and to work to bring about change to this issue. Below is the open letter to the 105 Board of Trustees for the Historically Black Colleges & Universities in this Nation.
